Ruach

Quieting the busyness of our minds by the gentle, focussed movement of our bodies - based on Chi Gung "moving meditation", then spending time with an insight from the medieval mystics.  We aim to experience the divine Spirit through meditation and breathing, to allow space and time for listening to the Creator of the universe.

...Now happening every Thursday Lunchtime at 1.00pm in St Luke's "The Bombed Out Church", top of Bold St.

Living the Questions
- Exploring Progressive Faith

People know that at its core, Christianity has something good to offer humanity. At the same time, many have a sense that they are alone in being a "thinking" Christian and that "salvaging" Christianity is a hopeless task. What is needed is a safe environment where people have permission to ask the questions they've always wanted to ask but have been afraid to voice for fear of being thought a heretic.

St Bride's regularly runs the "Living the Questions" course -  an exploration of Progressive Christianity.  Click here to see an introductory video.

If you are interested in registering for LTQ, please email Guy at the Vicarage guy.elsmore@yahoo.co.uk

Next start date for LTQ is April 2012

St Brides & Mildmay Allotment Project brings together formerly homeless residents of Chapter1 Mildmay House with volunteers from the University to grow organic veg in the garden at St Bride's. The Community Art Project offers a space for friendship, self expression and the exploration of spirituality through art.

The IChoir at St Bride's

We're a small friendly choir and we always welcome new singers and musicians. We perform 8 or 9 times a year at events around the city. We really enjoy our singing and we work hard to get out music sounding as good as it can be - but we're also here to enjoy ourselves, an to have fun, so the atmosphere is nice and relaxed. In fact we think singing is a great way to let your hair down and build confidence. Our our repertoire is a varied mix from the Beatles, Mamas and Papas & Simon & Garfunkel to the Eagles.......with a sprinkling of gospel......and we love singing The Coventry Carol at any time of year!

We are directed by our professional conductor,Chris,who rehearses the choir every Tuesday from 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. at St Bride's Church, Catherine Street, Liverpool. You're welcome to come and get an idea of what we do - we have a tea break half way through our rehearsal and a well eared pint after - so there's plenty of time to have a chat!

Poem of the Month

CHRISTPOWER

Look at him!
Look not at his divinity,
but look, rather, at his freedom.
Look not at the exagerated tales of his power,
but look, rather, at his infinite capacity to give himself away.
Look not at the first-century mythology that surrounds him,
but look, rather, at his courage to be,
his ability to live the contagious quality of his love.
Stop your frantic search!
Be still and know that this is God:
this love,
this freedom,
this life,
this being;
and
When you are accepted,
accept yourself;
When you are forgiven,
forgive yourself;
When you are loved,
love yourself.
Grasp that Christpower
and
dare to be yourself!
